I'm from california, watched a 'Ted Talks' vid about plants and oxygen and now I'm hooked =)!!

I'm wondering about spacing and how to plant 'Areca Palm' and 'Lady Palm' seeds(just purchased em)

I've seen pictures of palms that seem to have 10-15 trees? in each container, is this how you grow them? or would you want 1 seed per container? These would be for indoor and outdoor.

Areca palm needs to be - well, you could certainly bunch them up if you'd like to - but they are a solitary tree from what literature I've read and have seen of them in various places.

Lady palm, however, rhapis excelsa, can be solitary or in bunches. They will grow to be roughly 10 feet tall or so (depends on soil, light, temperature, etc...). I've got them as both. So don't worry about it - just do what you want - you can always divide them later.

so, is this a picture of more than one palm tree in a small container? or is that one of the areca palms spreading out of the soil?
