i live in vancouver bc. it rains a fair bit in the winter though its usualy not below 0 degrees celcius. but not warm enough to grow king palms and such. so i decided on the chinese windmill palm. one question i have is when growing them from seedlings, should i start it in a greenhouse for the first year till its matured? anyways. thanks for reading this post. any info is apreciated. thanx.

I would be contacting the PNW palms and subtropicals board about starting them. http://www.cloudforest.com/northwest/

Here you go. These guys are experts and are in your local area. I too am in BC Victoria to be exact.
