Hi All, I live in the sunny state of Florida. I have a lot of banana trees in various locations in my yard. Last year for the first time I got bananas. However, thanks to the bad hurricane season the whole banana tree got blown down before the bananas where ready. I tried to save it by tying and staking the tree up but it didn't work. This year I just noticed a new banana cluster coming on another tree. I am hoping since it is much earlier this year that it will be ready to pick before the hurricane season. Can anyone tell me when or if I can tell when it is time to cut off the bananas? I am so excited to get the chance to get bananas again. Also, does anyone know if I can fertilize them while they are blooming and getting fruit? What is the best kind of fertilizer to use? Thank you in advance for any help anyone can give me. Sincerely, Crystal
