Hi everyone! I am new to the forum, although I have found this to be a very interesting board and have read it for quite awhile now.
I live in the Florida Panhandle, and have successfully grown beautiful banana trees that I planted last year...that somehow withstood Ivan.
I now have bananas growing and was wondering if someone on the forum could identify the species for me,,, I am very excited about this. My children find this fun and educational.
Please help...

We also have very similiar looking banana plants that are also making banana's this year in the Panhandle. :) Sure would be interested to know what kind they are also. :)

I sure would LOVE to get my hands on one of those sprouts... I am very new to banana trees... and JUST LOVE their tropical look/feel. The trees I bought last year died, so started off again from scratch this year. Hope these make it through the winter... but I can ALWAYS make room for more. ;)

Take care!
