we are trying to grow a banana tree for the first time. We live in Illinois.
Our question is: the banana tree seems to be growing fine but the leaves have red blotches on them. What are the red blotches? We are new banana tree owners. We live in Illinois. It is growing fine but it has red blotches on the leaves. what are the red blotches on the leaves? |

I have two pictures but I cannot figure out how to post them.

The blotches are natural. They usually go away after the plant gets larger.

Thank you for the help Moleh8r. I thought it may be somthing I was, was not doing wright.

This is the Williams variety. It is from March 22nd 2005. It has the blotches
 This is the same plant today. (I am working on finishing mulching)  You can still see the red splotches on the older bottom leaves. There are 14 leaves on the plant currently, 2 barely. Edited by Moleh8r on Jun 28, 2005 at 09:08 PM |
