Can someone please tell me the best time to separate the young plants from the mother stalk? Should I wait until they are so high, or so old? Should I wait until I dig them up for the winter to store them? Thanks.

I have about 23 plants now and started with 5. I have seperated them at all stages. I just make sure I get as far away from the original plant as I can and still have plenty of soil and root system for the seperated plant. I do however, water them ALOT for the first three or four days and they have all turned out fine, not a single lost to any of them.

Thank you for your help. I have 3 banana trees. The tallest one last year produced fruit and now this year there are 3 new ones growing from it. One of the other ones has 2 new ones growing from it. Wish me luck. Thanks.
