I live in the Central Valley in CA where nights have been getting down into mid 30's. I have a Dwaft Cavindish Musa that grew in the ground to a height of about 7' this year. The label that came on it said it was good to 25 degrees. Since it is in the ground, I can't bring it inside. I did spray with Cloud Cover, but it's too big to cover( I tried). Any suggestins to help protect it? The leaves are turning brown which I expected, but i really would like to have it come back in the spring and maybe produce bananas.
I also have a plumeria tree which is in a container & I have brought that inside , placed in a dark room & am allowing it to go dormant per instructions in readings on the web. Any suggestions for it? Thanks. LindaS

Make sure you mulch the ground well around the banana and you can wrap some insulating material of some kind around the stalk for added protection if it hasn't already been damaged by a freeze. Don't worry about the leaves; they will grow back as soon as your spring arrives.

Make your words soft and sweet; you just may have to eat them someday.
