I just purchased a home in North Texas and there are several cut back around the pool. When will they start to grow? At what point should I become worried?
Also there are several 'palm' plants that are wrapped in burlap, when should I remove these?
Common sense says after the first freeze, but what is a good rule of thumb? I am not sure when the last freeze is...

Update on my bananans and palms: The banana trees are beautiful and have multiplied d almost over the top of my 6 ft fence! And of the 7 Sago palms, all but two have returned. I was even told by my landscaper that they all needed to be pulled up, but I followed some instructions given to me by the Palm Society of Galvestion, TX and they have mostly thrived!
Woo hoo!
