We grow a few mangrove to be used in marine aquariums and as a aquatic specimen plant. They look their best when the trunk sits on top of a tripod of aerial roots. To get the aerial roots to develop nicely, tie the sprouted seed so that only the root tips reach the water. Keep raising the plant as the roots grow until you have the desired effect. It will do nicely in a terrarium. Takes a lot of light though.
