I had a Palm Tree growing but it got too large so we had to take it outside. Then it grew VERY fast and it got really heavy and no one could get it back inside, so it died. Is there any palm species that will survive a winter here?

The short answer would be "No"

I recently moved from Wattsburg, PA so I have some recollection of the winter weather in that area. ;-)

The long answer would be how much winter protection you would be willing to invest, This can range from a portable heated greenhouse with gro-lights to a simple enclosure with christmas lights for heat.
Some species are more cold tolerant than others and may have a chance in the ground there with protection.

Devising a way to overwinter your palms in the house would probably be your best bet, Using dolly's or carts to move them around. This would also allow you to grow a much wider selection of species.

The saw palmetto or Washingtonia may be your best bets. Saw palmetto can take some freezing temperature and snow, but you would have to keep the ground from freezing solid.

Depends on what you want. If you want a "trunking" palm, then you must try a Trachycarpus. That would survive a NY Winter with a little work. A lot of mulch and wrap.
If you want a palm, but can take a "clumping" palm, then the Needle Palm (Hystrix) would make it with little to no work at all.
