Hi
Was repotting my banana plant outside today, cut a few of the babies off, then repotted. As i was pulling the plant out i must of tugged too hard and what seemed like the entire root ball came off!! I was really upset initially, but then i noticed that it did still seem to have a kind of a "clump" left on it. Now i carried on repotting the plant and watered it generously, is it possible my plant will be ok, and reroot normally as the babies seem to do..
Any help appreciated...

Aloha, Yes your plant is probably OK. But do you have a trunk with leaves? If so, the leaves will definitely tell you if the plant is OK. They'll droop if it's NOT OK. Also, did the plant bloom previous to your repotting? If it did bloom, you will probably not get another trunk from that corm anyway. But maybe you'll get another pup. In anycase, your plant woudn't have really died since your new plants you cut off of the old one are clones. Aloha, KAHOA

Hi & thanks for the reply..
Yes the trunk did have leaves, the root system i pulld out had some shoots on it so i assume that`ll do fine if i plant it and take the pups off as & when.. Im in the UK so the climate isnt ideal for tropical plants outdoors, the reason im so upset about this one is it`s quite a large plant, and i`ve been growing it for several years now. The plant did have a kind of base on it & a trunk with leaves, also with one very new large leaf on it. I came back from work today and the leaves had started to wilt except from the newest one, which i`ll wait and keep an eye on.
As you say all is not lost as i do have a few definate healthy pups, just really heart breaking to see the mother plant go down :-((
Thanks for your reply..
