I live in Texas also, banana trees are available at any nursery. I have seen them at Home Depot also. I start with two little plants two years ago and I know have approx. 25 of them due to reproduction. They add a beautiful tropical look to your landscape.

Helen, based on what I have read and seen from other plants, it takes a few years before you actually get bananas. What area do you live in?

Hi Helen, Looks like Fred has you set up. Good Luck. If you can't get through on that site, just try going to google.com and type in banana trees for sale. There are alot of companies that sell them over the net. Barb

Helen- I am not sure why the web site is not working for you I just tried it and it came right up. You might add www.acornsprings.com. If that does not work their toll free number is 888.442.2676. Good luck, I hope this helps. Fred

I learned already quite a lot from the discussion in this thread. I recently got a lovely banana plant from a dear friend from the uk via this flower delivery company http://www.serenataflowers.com and after a couple of weaks I had the same problems as you had - brown leaves! Then like a miracle the plant recovered again and is doing great so far! My question now is how often bananas get fruits? I have heard that they only get bananas once in their lifetime, but somehow I can't believe that. Is this really true?
