Msg. 1 of 3
I have eight banana plants, one giant , one dwarf and the rest Musa Lia something or another.
The Giant one is about 5 feet tall now, the others about 4, and the dwarf a mere two foot tall, all have pups expect the giant one, all were planted last year. What I need to know is when do they fruit? what do I feed them? and ....
One of the Musa's has just unfolded a new leaf and its not upright as usual, but droops. I have given it extra water, but it does not seem to help.
It is hot all year round, and this september/october the temp has risen into the mid 50c at times. I always make sure they have lots and lots of water, so I do not know why this one is drooping, have I watered it too much? Another one has a slightly droopy leave, but not as bad as the other.
Can you please give me some advise as to what I am doing wrong. Thank you

It seems like mine puts out a wrinkled, droopy leaf when I fertilize heavy with a water soluable fertilizer but the next seems fine.

50C ? By my calculation that is 122F which is way too hot for nanners. Above 95-100F the leaves scorch, wilt, and leaves grow deformed (small, narrow). Also, bananas like to be damp, but *never* flooded. be careful that you are not overwatering. Edited by Adrift on Dec 3, 2007 at 08:58 PM
