Don't know why the last post didn't come out so I will try this time.
We now have six hands of young fruit, with looks like more to come. I'm really surprised by the number of bees and wasps attracted to the blossom. I have feed it and watered it about once a week. It looks like it really enjoys its location. The soil that it is planted in is what ever the topsoil (3 inches) and then tan/orange clay. The area that it is planted is next to the house, right outside of the kitchen window. I hope its not bashful because we look at it quite often. Today I removed the purple covers from the flowers and now can see that the 1st hand is smaller than the rest! The fruit was completely covered by the purple cover maybe the bees and wasps couldn't get to the flowers. We'll have to see what happens now, the flowers on that hand appear to be brown.Past polenization?

What make Bananas bloom.

Yesterday my wife found the information from TBT and they said that it is a Musa "Gold Finger" So at least we know what it is.
Also wanted to let all of you know that one of our pineapples is starting to fruit The little guy is about four inches long. Something else to look forward to.
Today started out in the low 60s and it is now showing 80 outside.
