Hi! I'm from So. Central Kentucky. I'm new to bananas and only have two Dwarf Orinoco pups right now. I'm planning on having more varieties of banana and tropicals in general by the time spring arrives.

I'm REALLY excited about being able to have my own little tropical paradise in my yard. We just started putting up an aquaponics set up on our back deck with the plan of the fish tanks sitting on the ground beside it and I would like to plant some musa basjoo around the fish tanks to shade the fish in summer and hide the walls of the tanks with some landscaping.

Looking forward to learing alot and meeting new people.

Deb

My Orinoco pups are getting a shower tomorrow after we blast those mites. Ok.. going to go look around this forum and see what trouble I can get into! JUST KIDDING.

MsKitty you know I'd love to have one and you don't have to ship. I'll be down off and on. I've got to quit staying up so late. I ordered a Saba and a Basjoo. Hope the Saba pups for me cause I need a group of the tall ones. I have this friend that likes to hang around watching, like a spider monkey ..............

Nope I haven't figured out the picture thing yet Lynn. Oh gosh I hope it's not just photo bucket. I want them in the threads.

I better get to bed. It's 1:30AM and I need to get up early. I'm going to go get some water from the pond to water the plants inside and see how they do since we'll soon be using that water to water the garden on the deck.
OK.. THAT'S A LIE ....... I'm going to have Ric go get the pond water for me!!

No he didn't go get water for me. He slept most of the day. I'm just going to take it out of the aquarium. I've got a 75gal. aquarium in the living room that I told my daughter she could have as I got tired of taking care of it. We've always had animals of all sorts, fish and birds and I'm just tired of it all. Now I'm sort of wishing I hadn't given it away though as I'm looking at it in a whole new light ... like a grow light and trays or pots of whatever I want to grow hooked up to it. I guess that wouldn't look good in the living room. Actually Lynn you could hook a pot up to your aquarium to put a nana in. LOL That might not go well with your decor though.

Well I have the table cleared off and brought the nanas out to work on and have some other things I need to transplant too. Also going to get a couple trays of salad vege seeds sowed. Talk to you later!

who cares about decore when it deals with nanas. everything goes with nanas. if it dosent you need to get new furniture!!! lol.i have a 75 gallon aqu. and you can get grow lights at walmart for like 10.97. make sure you get full spectrum and that it leans more to the blue spectrum. ( when you turn on the light it will be a purple, blue color) you need the full spect. lights for the red and yellow waves, but the blue end is better) i have to pit up some plants for my sister this weekend. i need to pot up my ruby red grapefruit sprouts, before they die off. oscar has a new leaf(orinoco)my lucky charmhas a new leaf. my monstera has a leaf that popped out the other day..wish it was nice outside.

Forgot about the filter on the aquarium ... I guess that would filter out all the goodies that the bacteria makes.. like nitrates so didn't get any water from there. I guess if it was set up to be filtering through a gravel bed then the water would be good. Our fish cage came today! We'll put it on a rope and sink it to the bottom of the pond and then pull it back up a little later to see our catch for the fish tanks. Not ready to go fishing quite yet though.

We have a heifer missing!! Coyotees are really out too. You can hear them. Ric looked for her for hours today and will look again tomorrow. Talked to all the neighbors. Will email you about freezer beef mskitty. What're you up to mg? Grandaughter and youngest daughter came over today wanting to plant some flower seeds as I still have all my mess on the dining table. I threw some artichoke seeds I have from last year in a couple pots too.

Off to bed I go ... night night Sam and Lynn
