Arachnid, I have always been interested in staghorn ferns.
Is it better to mount the plant on driftwood or is any screened spagnum moss thingy ok.

Most of mine are mounted on cedar or cyprus. I have some that are growing in normal pots filled with dirt as well.

The ones that I mounted myself were done with a moss type "dirt" made for orchids. they are doing pretty well ....but how i attached them to the board could have been better.

I'll have to remount several of them this summer.

Ive been looking around, but so far havent spotted any............ yet!

This will be my 1st time growing staghorn fern, so iam learning all i can before it arrives.

I've found several pots in the past at walmart and lowes. Keep your eyes peeled, it is funny where you can find them sometimes.l

ok..um what exactly is it??? lol. latin name really screw with my head! lol. i have no clue as to what that type is. hey cincy girl if the e-mail that i got was from you ...queen sugar send it again i deleated it by mistake..sorry. i just dont open e-mail im not sure of.

your ditching a nana tree? ill take it!!!!!! i had to do a search to figure out what it is. how big is it...have you babied it and are you getting rid of it or selling it???? inquiring minds want to know.

btw it gets about 5 to 6 ft tall ...and pups like mad ...very nice naner ...my favorite to this point...too big to ship though. It is about 5 ft tall.

I'll try to do that tomorrow ....some of the leaves are yellowing due to the length of sunlight ...but big base for the size of the plant...

no doubt it will bounce out in the spring. You can be the judge. =)

that will work. are you taking it to nashvegas w/ you? i have a gro light, 2 compact florc. that equal to 75 wats each and one compact that is equal to 100 wats in the nana room.. with those and the heater and the humidifier going 24/7..my light bill was 205.00 this month. but the things we do for the love of bananas.
