Hello ,I'm trying to locate a Banana tree, the fruit is only about 3" or 4" and very sweet. I have been buying the bananas at the flea market in my area and would like to find the trees to try and grow my own.I live on the Gulf Coast of Florida so I think its warm enough here. Thanks for your help.

Super dwarf cavendish are short and very sweet. It could be that kind. I have them here in Mandeville, LA and they do great (even though they do freeze, some of them come back but most just start new pups). They can take full blasting sun to partial shade (I don't have any in full shade so I don't know how well they'd do).

There's also the chance they could be orinoco, which are sold at Rouses and Winn Dixie here in Mandeville. They are the most common banana along the Gulf Coast and in New Orleans which, from what I've read, is where they started out in the cotton trade of all things.
