My wife and I bought two new Banana trees three weeks ago in Dallas; they were just the trunk not planted in a pot.
We got them home about 100 miles away and planted them that day. One looks ok but the other one is a little mushy on top, can I cut it back or is it gone?
Has any one bought a Banana like this, not in a pot? First time i've seen them sold this way, they are about 6' tall and the base is maybe 5" across no leaves

Sounds like you mak have cooked them. Dig down tyo there corm and see if it's solid. If it's solit start hacking down about 8 inches off the top every 10 days until you start to see growth from the P stem. If its mushy then its gone. Hope this helps
