Hi,
I am new to this forum and gardening in general.
I am looking to plant a Heliconia Rostrata Rhizome as well as a Heliconia Sexy Pink rhizome separately. They will be for indoor use, and planted separately as two separate plants.
My question is, what kind of pot or jar can you plant these in? Ideally, I would like these plants to situate in a water type jar:

or a tall jar.

Is this possible? I see pictures in decorating magazines of heliconia plants coming out of these types of jars but I am not sure if it is the whole plant or just the cutting.
Or am I limited to just an ordinary planter?
Thanks
