I planted my first banana tree (musa basjoo) last spring, here in central Indiana. I was thrilled when it grew over 10 feet tall. I left it in the ground and mulched it heavily over the winter. Now I currently have 2 growing side by side, just a couple of inches from each other. They are currently about 3 ft. tall each, I also have some very small "pups" around them also. My question is, can I divide or dig out one of the big ones and transplant it to another location. I don't want to cause any harm to either one of them and I'll leave them as is if that is better. But it would be nice to be able to have them in two locations. I appreciate any help.
