I have a Philodendron with browning leaf tips. When the leafs are young they look healthy however with age the tips dry out and become brown. Does anyone have experience with this and how to help it? Thanks
Is there any place that new additions to the online catalog on this webpage are highlighted?
Either next to the newly added product in its section or in a "New" section, does this practice exist on this page?
I recently read an article in the August 2005 issue of Popular Science entitlted "Can this Fruit be Saved?" about the future of the Cavendish banana (the yellow banana everyone is familiar with). I was just curious on the present status of the Gros Michel, which was previously the most widely used banana until a disease wiped out the many of the banana plantations.
Is the Gros Michel banana extinct or did the disease ruin only the commercial value of the banana greatly diminishing its populations on the banana plantations?
I have had my DESERT ROSE (Adenium obesum) for about 3 months now and I think I'm in trouble.
1st mistake, I sprayed the plant with water after I planted it ignoring the "do not keep wet" instructions. This led to all of the leaves withering and falling off. To my astonishment, a crown of leaves soon grew back within a few weeks and my worries subsided. The plant seemed to be growing fine until my 2nd mistake; over watering. I figured the plant was coming back from the brink of death and needed all the help it could get but again ignored the instructions.
Now its come to the present day, I haven't watered the plant in 2 weeks and it has seemed to stop growing. There are 2 full leaves and 2 smaller leaves yet to uncurl on the top of the plant but they seem to be not moving. The base of the plant, once swollen, is now wrinkled and squishy.
Is it too late for my Desert Rose? Anyone have any advice?
Has anyone had any experience growing Sequoia giganteum or "Giant Redwood"? I purchased some seeds from this site but I am getting a low germination amount and the seedlings that do begin to grow die within a week.
Does anyone know about the types of conditions the young plants should be in (dampness, temerature, etc)?
Thanks a ton, dug up the seeds to see if the root was creeping and 2 out of 5 were already an inch long. I moved the 2 out of the small plastic squares I started all the seeds in and put them into bigger pots.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with any of the other cycads found on this site or found anywhere else. I'm thinking of collecting more so any input would be appreciated
Does anyone have any experience with growing cycads from seed? What conditions would be best for the seed like temperature, dampness, depth, etc. and which of those is a necessary factor to have.
I recently purchased Dioon Edule seeds from this site but have seen no signs of germination.
