Plant a Palm, you cannot Grow wrong!
There is a native species of palm in Oklahoma. Small Sabal minor can be foound growing in the wild. You should check out Don's hardy palms, he is a grower in Oklahoma that has been growing palms in his garden for many years. He has hoards of very well established Sabal species on his property. I've been growing palms and exotics outdoors for more than 2 decades now. Over the years I've noticed more and more gardeners have joned in the fun. Palms are now a common landscape plant here at our northern latitude. Happy Palm growing, Banana Joe
