I just got two banana trees, and planted them outside in containers, Its been raining and cold since I planted them, so I have not watered or gave them anything, but the leaves are dying out, should I cut them or pull them out.. also what do I feed them when they start to grow. the only thing still alive in the center leave and it has no bloomed yet.. I'm new to growing anything...

I'm new to growing banana trees, I got two for christmas, and planted them in containers outside, Fairfield, ca, but the leaves are dying and turning brown should, I pull them or cut them off, Its been rainig since I planted them so I have not watered or gave them anything..any help would be great thanks
