yes i figured that would be the answer- thanks..
i'm waiting on getting my pond finished then i will plant some banana's i have growing in a pot around the pond. should i just wait till next spring to plant them or do i still have enough time?
you live in alot warmer place then me. but i will use the mother plant and see and i will keep the babies inside the house over the winter months.
hmm looks like mine,except my trunk on mine is purple.

Well i live in Ohio zone 5. so is it as cold hardy as my Musa Basjoo?

PS do you have any pictures of yours?
Homedepot in the outside green house area had acouple dozen banana plants growing in pots with acouple different flowers. no the lady had no clue of course what kind they were.. there a shock..... anyhow it has very few leaves on it and the leaves are a deep purple/green... is this cold hardy?
P>S i have been gorwing musa banana plants for years in my zone 5 in ohio all year around and cacti's,palms too. so i have plenty of experience with these plants just want to see if they are a type of musa..
