This is the monarch of native Hawaiian forest trees. Height varies from 60 to 100 with a dark green spreading crown of crescent shaped "leaves". Under perfect conditions the hard, straight trunks may be seen growing to 80 with 10 trunks. Greatly valued for it s beautiful red wood with wavy lines.Plant at a depth of 1" in well draining soil mixture. Keep warm, damp in bright light and fertilize monthly. * TO HASTEN GERMINATION: Use a nail clipper to carefully nick the seed with a very small nick. Then place the seeds into a cup of warm water overnight. Plant when the seeds have swollen.
