Large Indian hardwood tree to 100' often used as a substitute for teak. The smooth wood is fine grained and used primarily in paneling and flooring. The trunk may reach 5' in width and is buttressed. There is some use of the bark as an insecticidal. Leaves are 1" elliptical and profuse, the flowering is purplish-white funnel-form and scented. Tropical.Cover the seeds with 3/8" of soil mixture. Keep warm and lightly moist in bright light.
