This is the only native North American cycad. When mature its erect leaves may reach five feet in length with 5 - 12 leaves emerging from its crown. It develops a short, upright trunk of only 5" while more of the trunk remains underground. When full grown each leaf has 20 to 80 shiny,thin leathery leaflets which are 3/4" wide and 5" in length handsomely crowded. A beautiful small cycad. Prefers constant warmth, high humidity and filtered sunlight. We are shipping small plants with 2 or 3 upright leaves with a base that is 1" wide or larger. Not for export. Plant as soon as received.
