This Ephedra is the most desirable of the genus as the source of Pseudo Ephedrine. We originally found our plants in Nepal. It can be grown in zones 6 & 7. Hardy to 27 F. degrees. This shrub produces numerous slender jointed stems with virtually no leaves. It s cone-like fruits are red, fleshy and bitter to the taste. Plant the seeds at a depth of 3/8" using well draining soil mixture. Requires bright light. Keep lightly moist.
