This is an extremely fast growing tree fern from Brazil that can exceed 80' ( can be prunned to size ) . When young it will exhibit a 4 to 5 foot trunk with beautiful fern-like leaves that exceed 6'. The smooth trunk from that stage grows straight and tall developing a beautiful canopy of ferny leaves which becoime overshadowed by a massive display of golden yellow blossoms that cover the canopy.. Requires constant warmth and well draining soil that should be kept damp wrnmths constant warmth and humidity. The oval shaped seeds are large, and flat and have a very hard seed coat - and are heavy ( 100 seeds weigh about 8 ounces ). To germinate the seeds they must be carefully filed on an outter parameter to allow moisture entry, then soak the seeds for 4 hours. After soaking plant the seeds at a 3/4" depth using well draining soil mixture with 20% coarse sand added to it. Keep warm and only lightly moist.
