| Bay trees can be wonderfully ornamental and may be trained to give a the desired appearance. In warmer zones it can reach 40' yet it may be pruned and kept quite small and is able to grow indoors where you really can pluck the aromatic leaves. The leaves are used in cooking, perfumery and in medicine. Fresh seeds are available most of the year. |
Germination for: BAY LEAF - Laurus nobilis
Plant at a depth of 3/4" using well draining soil mixture. Be careful to not keep the soil wet or the seeds may rot. Water only when your soil is dry to a depth of 1/2". Provide bright light and warmth.
