	Grows to 30' in the tropics. May be pruned to size to make an unique indoor plant. Beautiful flowers develop from long cylindrical buds that open with a slightly explosive sound. It's 5" petals are purple and downy white within. As the petals curl back they reveal pink stamens which later are followed by 4 "leathery capsules which are filled with brownish cotton. Plants are 7" - 8" tall with a nice 1 1/2" caudexed base and heart shaped leaves. Likes bright light and warmth. Shipped bare root.	Germination for: SHAVING BRUSH TREE - Bombax ellipticum Use A well draining soil mixture. Be sure to firm the soil around the roots when planting. Keep warm, in bright light and with high humidity.
