Grown mainly for the production of the nuts but it is also an attractive landscape tree and a unique indoor ornamental. Its hard seed coat must be filed before planting. Our packet size for Macadamia contains three large heavy seeds usually the size of a medium marble. The weight of 100 seeds is approximately 1 lb.	Germination for: MACADAMIA integrifolia "Macadamia nut" Soak the seeds for 24 hours. Before planting file very carefully through a portion of the hard shell. This will hasten germination. Plant in a well draining soil mixture - preferably a peat mix with 15% coarse sand added to it. Keep warm and lightly moist and in bright light.
