| Grown in warm regions worldwide for production of the olives and the oil. Slow growing tree 20' to 50' with long leathery leaves silvery beneath. With age the trunk becomes thick and gnarled. Seeds must be scarified prior to planting. |
Germination for: OLEA europea "European Olive"
Cut or file the tips to expedite moisture entry. Plant at a depth of 1" in well draining soil with 20% loam added. Keep warm, damp ( not wet ), and in bright light. Germination is usually 6-8 weeks. It is very important that you do not keep it wet.
