Growing Instructions & Tips: |
| This tall tropical tree is the original mahogany of commerce. Sometimes seen as a large shade tree in the tropics. Mature height is 75' with shiny pinnate leaves. Valued for its commercial wood. In regard to the seeds, please note that they are sent to you in broken sections of the seed pod. The tree produces a large, long seed pod and when it is adequately cured we break the pod into individual sections which contain the seed. |
Germination for: SWIETENIA mahogani "Brazilian Mahogany"
After carefully removing the soft brown covering you will find the actual seed. Plant it a 3/3" depth in well draining soil mixture. Requires fresh air circulation, warmth,and bright light. Water only when the first half inch of soil is dry. DO NOT KEEP WET.
