Growing Instructions & Tips: |
| Early settlers used the seed as a coffee substitute. Hardy, deciduous tree to 100' with leaves in pairs 3-7 acuminate. The seeds develop in 6"-10" long dark pods and are retained on the tree through the winter months. Very unusual for the fact that it puts out leaves later in the growing season than most other trees. The coarsely grained wood is durable and strong. Easily grown in northern zones. |
