| An increasingly popular vegetable. May be used as a substitute for water chestnuts - eaten raw or cooked. Sweet and crispy. Easily grown in sandy soil with loam in dry climate, and may be grown indoors as an attractive vining houseplant with its lobed heart shaped leaves and light purple flowers. Must be kept warm. As outdoor crop it produces its delicious underground tubers weighing up to 5 lb. 7 seeds in a pkt. |
