Growing Instructions & Tips: |
| This banana is the progenitor of many of the banana cultivars that we know of today. Growing to 20' it forms clumps of lush foliage which make it ideal for creating a jungle landscape for warmer zones. Its foliage tends to be more upright than most cultivated banana. It develops large colorful inflorescence of bright red and maroon. The bluish-green fruits are not edible as they are filled with numerous hard seeds. Our packet size contains 8 or more seeds. |
Germination for: MUSA balbisiana
Plant the seeds at a depth of 3/4" using a well draining soil mixture. Keep warm, damp and in bright light with high humidity. Fertilize lightly every two weeks.
