| This is the Flying Dragon cultivar which has highly twisted, contorted stems. It produces an inedible 2 1/2" yellow fruit that is quite bitter if tasted. It is a very colorful ornamental that is cold tolerant to zone 5 where it can take moderate frost and snow. Sometimes grown as a protective hedge or as property barrier due to its long sharp spines. |
Germination for: PONCIRUS trifoliata "Chinese bitter orange"
Plant at 3/4" depth in well draining soil. Keep lightly moist. Bright light.
