| Popular slow growing palm with hardiness from Florida to South Carolina. Its palmate leaves are broad - to 6' with long stiff stalks, the top is crowned with a cluster of leaves. The trunk grows variably 20' to 80' and will be covered with a criss cross pattern of old leaf bases. When adult it can withstand sporadic cold. Its emblem is on the state flag of South Carolina. One of the easier palms to grow. |
Germination for: SABAL Palmetto - "Cabbage palm"
Plant as soon as received. Using a well draining soil mixture, plant at a depth of 1". Keep warm and damp in bright light. Germination is usually within two weeks.
