| The leaves of this popular hanging cactus are flattened joints which eventually grow to 1'. The attractive tubular like flowers are usually bright red. It is a South American plant that is grown in short daylight with warmth and cool nights. It is the cool nights that induce flowering. NOTE: The seeds are very small and they must be planted immediately. |
Germination for: ZYGOCACTUS truncatus "Christmas cactus"
Sow the small seeds immediately on the surface of well draining soil mix - or cactus mix. Place in filtered sunlight and dampen the seeds. Keep the seeds always lightly moist. Avoid hot dry air.
