Pereskia is an example of a nonsucculent primative cactus. Its main stem is upright and resembles a woody plant more than a cacti. Its branching becomes quite vine-like while producing thick oblong leaves and very sharp spines. Red flowers are in clusters. Pear shape fruits are similar to a Chayote but smaller. |
