This Cudrania grows three inch oval leaves which were once used in the feeding of silkworms for the production of silk. Although it is a spiny tree to 20' it is sometimes kept cut back to make a handsome hedge. One of its outstanding features is that it makes a desirable bonsai. It produces edible 1" globose fruits that are bright orange - red. Hardy to zone 5. |
