Growing Instructions & Tips: |
| This uncommon Mexican cycad has a palm-like appearance. It has dense thin leaflets and an erect slender trunk to 16'. The young leaves are a translucent blue-green. The mature leaves arch gracefully to 7' and may have up to 240 light green leaflets. The seeds are quite large weighing approximately one ounce each. Our packet size contains 2 very large seeds which are each about the size of a MEDIUM SIZE EGG. The weight of these seeds may reflect an increase in the shipping cost. There are approximately 20 seeds in one pound, 100 seed weight is 5lb. |
Germination for: DIOON spinulosum
Plant the large seeds upright - the tufted end is the top. Cover with 2 1/2" well draining soil mix. Keep damp, always warm and in partial shade or filtered sun. Fertilize monthly.
