		PLANT AS SOON AS RECEIVED - Use SOIL MIXTURE - and add 15% COARSE SAND to your soil mixture. If you are using a soil that is too dense you can rot the roots away - be sure to use the formula we have given. Plant with 1/3 of the base in the soil. Place in bright light but not direct sun. After your first watering do not water again until you have dryness at a depth of 1". Do not keep soil wet or it will rot if you are in doubt about watering this plant you are safer to not water. The main value of the plants that you receive is the size of the base. Any base that we send that is over 1 1/2" wide is a bonus. In some cases there may only be one or two leaves. The important thing to remember is to grow it properly and it will re-establish itself and new leaves will develop. New leaf growth may be slow in coming so it is important to remain patient.

	This is the most recognized cycad. OUR PLANTS ARE SMALL, ONE YEAR OLD, AND HAVE 1 TO 3 LEAVES. Some are more than two years old. Their main value is the size of the base. Any base over 1 1/2" is an exceptional value because it takes a few years to attain that size. Newer leaves may take 6 months or more to emerge and they will develop from the very apex of of the plant. New leaves are tender but will harden off as they mature into stiff upright stems with many shiny leaflets. These plants will be ready to transplant into a 6" container in another 4 - 6 months. The "Sago palm" is actually a Cycad (not a palm ). Cycads represent one of the oldest known forms of plant life.
