| One of the most beautiful palms in the world. The new leaves emerge with a magnificent red color and the petioles are a bright purple. Perfect for southern California where it can be easily grown. It is a solitary palm, height to 22' - develops a woody trunk with 10" diameter. Its thick pinnate leaves grow to 12'. Can tolerate some cold to 35 degrees F. Grows well in partial sun or full sun. Many of the large seeds are the size of a large marble. The average weight of 100 seeds is 1 1/2 lb. Our packet size contains 5 seeds. Our postal chart does not apply to this seed since it is in the "large seed category" - we charge the actual cost of the postage. |
Germination for: CHAMBEYRONIA macrocarpa "Red leaf Palm"
Plant at a depth of 2" with well draining soil mixture. Keep damp, warm in bright light with high humidity.
